Lift Truck Dealer Poised For The Future

Dewitt, NY – May 17, 2010: The Second Quarter 2010 issue of The MHEDA Journal (http://www.TheMhedaJournal.org), the leading online magazine for the forklift, storage and handling, and general material handling equipment industries, spotlights A. J. Jersey Company, a forklift distributor in South Plainfield, New Jersey.

A.J. Jersey has been in business since 1970 and sells lift trucks, pallet rack and other allied material handling products. President David Rizzo and his brother, Vice President Steven Rizzo, are the second-generation executives of the company, following in the footsteps of their father, Patrick Rizzo, who retired in 1998. As the company reaches its 40-year milestone, David Rizzo sat down with 1999 MHEDA President Sam Grooms, president of Hy-Tek Material Handling in Columbus, Ohio, to discuss how A.J. Jersey has evolved over its history and what to expect going forward.

The two spoke about sales differentiation, service department issues, website strategies, company goals, rebounding from a down economy, and more. In describing his company, Rizzo says, “A.J. Jersey is a family-owned, customer-oriented, people-driven machine that never ceases to amaze me. Every year, I think we can’t do better, but every person in this company has pride. We’re not just here for the buck; if people didn’t like it, they wouldn’t thrive.”

Market Research Manager Boosts Forklift Sales

Dewitt, NY – May 24, 2010: The Second Quarter 2010 issue of The MHEDA Journal (http://www.themhedajournal.org), the leading online magazine for the forklift, conveyor, storage & handling, and general material handling equipment industries, was mailed to subscribers on April 15 and is now accessible online at www.TheMhedaJournal.org.

This issue features a profile of industry up-and-comer Kristin Carey, market research manager at Wisconsin Lift Truck in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Carey is just 30 years old, but she has already made a mark at the company during her eight-year tenure. She joined the company at age 22 after earning a marketing degree from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. As market research manager, Carey’s primary duties include creating the company’s media plan, overseeing telesales, researching the buying patterns of the company’s customer base, and identifying and segmenting customers according to SIC/NAICS codes that they purchase. “This allows us not only to understand our customers better, but to clearly identify target markets we’d like to convert to customers,” Carey explains.

Even with all the success she’s already achieved, Carey is not content to rest on her laurels. “My job ensures that there’s never a dull, unchallenging day, and I like it that way. WLT is an incredibly positive work environment, and you know that what you’re doing is making a difference. I plan to keep adapting and evolving as the material handling industry and marketing concepts do—so that I can help the company reach even higher.”
